We are active stewards of the communities where we develop, construct, and operate. There is no ​‘us’ and no ​‘them.’

Our philosophy.

Long before a project is built, we sit down with local leaders, business owners, school administrators, and community members to understand the land, the history of the region, and the community’s priorities. 

These transparent conversations shape everything from the route a construction truck takes to avoid schools, the layout of a project, the habitats we restore in the region, and the organizations we invest in.

Our approach in practice.

  • Designing haul routes around school bus routes.

    For the Roman project, we partnered extensively with school leadership and designed haul traffic plans to keep construction traffic away from local schools. We installed school zone crossing signs at bus stops along our haul corridors, coordinate with transportation teams, and incorporate bus safety protocols into daily construction stand-ups. 

  • Restoring biodiverse values and reintroducing native plants.

    Our playa wetlands restoration work restores biodiversity values through the reintroduction of native plants and by attracting native insects, birds, and other wildlife. This benefits ranchers’ and farmers’ livelihoods by enhancing percolation to local agricultural wells, and making local municipalities more water resilient through increasing regional groundwater recharge. We have restored 11 playas in the Texas Panhandle so far, which is expected to grow to 50 in the next three years.

Highlights from the communities we call home.

  • $50 million community investment for Deaf Smith, Roberts, and Gray Counties in Texas

    • In October 2026, we announced a $50 million commitment in long-term community investment across Deaf Smith, Gray, and Roberts counties, home of the Meitner and Roman Energy Centers. The investment ensures benefits to the local communities for generations. The $50 million commitment establishes permanent endowed funds intended for sustained, long-term community development and civic programs across the three counties. Specific funds are also allocated for grants associated with community priorities and sustained support of local events, sponsorships, and programs.

  • Investing in the heart of Hereford

    John Bunch Sports Complex, Hereford, TX

    • We spent a morning alongside Hereford Sports and Wellness staff and city leaders clearing fields, cleaning bleachers, and getting the John Bunch Sports Complex ready for summer. We also contributed $150,000 to fund shade structures, fencing, parking, and other amenities that will make the space welcoming for athletes and families for years to come.

  • Investing in Pampa’s next generation

    Pampa ISD, TX

    • As energy and technology industries take root in the Texas Panhandle, Pampa’s students should be first in line for the careers that follow. Intersect’s $100,000 contribution to Pampa ISD funds instructional programming, equipment, and classroom resources at the new Career and Technical Education Center at Pampa High School. We also provided additional funding to support the athletics and theater programs.

  • 21,000 readers in the Panhandle and counting

    Sod Poodles, Amarillo, TX

    The Amarillo Sod Poodles’ Reading with RUCKUS program works like a baseball game: students read nine books, one per inning, earning a prize for each one they finish. We’ve been the presenting sponsor for three years running, and this year the program reached its largest class yet: 21,000 students across 65 schools in 16 school districts throughout the Texas Panhandle.

  • Proud to call Haskell home

    Keep Haskell Beautiful, Haskell, TX

    We joined local leaders and residents for Keep Haskell Beautiful’s Fall Sweep and quarterly Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup Day to pick up trash and show up for a community we’re proud to be in. We’ve also contributed $400,000 to Keep Haskell Beautiful to fund improvements, including upgrades to the city’s walking track and tennis courts, improvements to the Haskell Civic Center, and new fire equipment for the Haskell Fire District.   • Rolling up our sleeves for Tralee

    Tralee Crisis Center, Pampa, TX

    The Tralee Crisis Center in Pampa, TX., has been a lifeline for survivors of domestic violence across nine counties in the Texas Panhandle for over four decades. We recently spent a day at Tralee clearing out an old playground to make room for new equipment, re-painting, and moving furniture to make things more comfortable for families. We also contributed a $30,000 grant towards new playground equipment because kids deserve a safe place to just be kids. Watch recap.

    Helping to open doors in Pampa, summer after summer

    The Well Steam & Literacy Center, Pampa, TX

    This year is our third consecutive year partnering with The Well STEAM & Literacy Center in Pampa, bringing our total investment to $80,000. Our $50,000 contribution in summer 2026 reduced, and in many cases, fully covered tuition costs for families across the community, keeping The Well’s programming accessible to every student pre‑k through 12th grade. Funding also includes scholarships for The Well’s Flex School, which supports students with unique learning needs during the school year. Watch recap.

  • Showing up during times of crisis

    Pampa CoC + Amarillo Area Foundation

    When the Smokehouse Creek Fire, one of the largest in Texas history, swept through the Panhandle, we loaded up our trucks with drinks, snacks, and supplies for the local fire departments and other relief organizations. To further support affected families and communities in Roberts County, we made a $100,000 contribution to the Pampa Chamber of Commerce and built on this with an additional $50,000 to the Amarillo Area Foundation’s Panhandle Disaster Relief Fund for wildfire support in Swisher County, TX. 

Project highlights

Our projects co-locate energy generation with data centers on the same physical site. We pay for 100% of the power we use, cover the cost of infrastructure needs driven by our growth, and ensure the buildout does not pass the costs of infrastructure growth onto local families.
